Introduction
This tutorial will show you how to download, install, or unzip MSTAT-C and define the data path. MSTAT-C is free software and can be downloaded from the link below.
Follow the steps below to install MSTAT-C and properly define a path for the data.

Download MSTAT-C
Download the files named MSTAT_files.exe
and MSTAT_Data.exe
. These files will not take too long to download. The link to download these files is given below.
Extract MSTAT-C files
Once you have downloaded both files, next step is to extract these files. First click on MSTAT data
file to unzip or extract the files in C directory. By doing this it will auto create folder with the name MSTATC
in C directory. In this folder you will find another folder named as DATA
where you will find all examples that can be practiced. Now click on second zip file MSTAT files
and unzip or extract it to MSTATC
folder in C directory. The figure below shows the way to unzip downloaded files.
Open MSTAT-C
Go to C directory and open the MSTAT-C
folder. Double clik the MSTATC.exe
file to open MSTAT-C. It will work fine with 32 bit operating system.
64 bit operating system require DOSBOX to open MSTAT-C
In case if you are using 64 bit operating system then you will need to install DOSBOX to open MSTATC.exe
file. Just drag and drop MSTATC.exe
file on BOSBOX
to open it. You can download DOSBOX from any reliable source.

When you will open the MSTATC
the main page will look like this.
Define data path
In the above figure you will see the default data path is C:\MSTATC\DATA\
which is fine if you are working in 32 bit operating system. For those who are using 64 bit operating system this path will not work and you will get an error when creating new files or while importing data in MSTAT-C. The below procedure is only for those who are using 64 bit operating system.
To define the data path go to 11. CONFIG
or press 11 on the numeric keypad. Click enter and choose 6. Change default data path
.
Let’s change the default data path from C:\MSTATC\DATA\
to C:\DATA\
. Press enter and return to the main menu while giving yes
the command to save settings.
With the new data path, MSTAT-C will work properly in DOSBOX. Now you can create files, access the saved files and save outputs even using the 64-bit operating system.
